Hello world: What is webdev, and why does it exist?

This is the first article on webdev. So let’s start with the obvious question.

The short answer: webdev is a website service from B3dmar that delivers a finished, professional website to small Danish businesses at a fixed price with a fixed delivery time. It exists because we kept building the same kind of site and eventually turned the foundation into a product.

What is webdev?

The site you are reading right now is built on exactly the foundation we build customer sites on. That is deliberate. If we would not use it ourselves, neither should you.

Why does it exist?

Because we kept building the same site.

B3dmar builds software products. Along the way the products needed websites, we needed websites, and people around us needed websites. A therapist with a booking system. A developer with a portfolio. A product with a landing page. The fifth time we built it, the pattern was obvious: these sites are more alike than they are different. The front page, the services, the about page, the contact, the booking. What changes is the business, the language, and the look. Not the foundation.

At the same time, the way software gets built has moved. With a proven foundation and modern tooling, including AI in the development work, we can now build a site in days where the same work used to take us weeks. That changes the math.
